Day 9: Alyeska and Winner Creek

It was a LOVELY day yesterday.
Perfect day to go outside and get out of town!

That's exactly what we did.
Yesterday Write and Science Alaska went out of Anchorage to go on two wonderful hikes.
We had a choice to hike up a mountain or hike on a trail by the hotel.

I, myself, took the smooth trail by the hotel, with a smaller group.
It was beautiful! The clear baby blue sky standing behind the tall tresses
With the passing smiling faces and the singing voices bringing us happiness.
There were dogs all over the place. It made me wants a puppy ever more then I have ever wanted one.
It was a hot summer day! But it was okay, the shade on the trail made it cool down some.
We did make it past the 1.5 mile mark an hour into the trail.

On the way to there we heard the sounds of water and birds, and the sounds of footsteps.
To me the whole thing was just beautiful and I'm happy that I could be a part of it.
We did take it easy and had a wonderful time!

It was really hot yesterday as we went hiking. Myself and some of the Write Alaska students went on a hike to Mount Alyeska. We got to see some beautiful sights of the houses and go to places we hadn't been to. Many of us were really tired, but still we all made it to the top. We took some nice pictures of the construction workers on the mountain peak.

We all hiked up a steep hill. It felt like some of us were about to fall back. The two main people that had to walk up the steep were Ben And I. We had to motivate the rest of the girls to catch up (poor Ben). But the main thing we had to do was make it to the top. We had a cool breeze while hiking to the top, and a hot, steaming sun to give us a tan, but we made it to the top. Everybody was kind of tired, and some of the students were motivated, the main thing is that everybody had fun. Congrats to the people that made it up Alyeska.

P.S: The lady in the tram was really funny while we were riding down.
