Ben Dexter

Hi, I'm Ben. I'm going to be teaching you all about writing and hiking with you for the next two weeks. I might even sit by you on the bus. You're going to be seeing a lot of me, so get used to it. I live in a small village called Tuluksak, which is a little northeast of Bethel.

I used to teach middle school, but next year I'll be graduating on up to the big leagues, teaching Language Arts to high schoolers. I also coach volleyball and basketball. Our basketball team came in second in our region last year, which sounds really good so long as you don't know there were only three teams in our region.

I really love poetry. Li Young Lee is my favorite poet. My favorite authors are Haruki Murakami, Isaac Bashevis Singer, and John Steinbeck. I really love music. I listen to all kinds of music, but I also play a few instruments. I should also mention that I care way too much about baseball and hockey, specifically the Mariners and Canucks.
