On Friday, July 20th, 2012, Our class, Write Alaska, went on a bike ride from Elderberry Park downtown, all the way to Kincaid Park. Students rented bikes from the bike rental near the downtown park, but some staff brought their own. Down the bike trail we went. From there, we had an interesting trip, ranging from students almost getting lost to a student getting injured with a nasty bruise on her leg from her foot slipping off her pedal, to a moose off the side of the trail. We went through many hills with twists and turns, through forests, and over bridges. All in all, it was a fun and exhausting trip.
Now here's Cadeesha:
What an exhausting bike ride on Friday. The sun wasn't out, it was cloudy and kind of rainy.
Even though it was windy and cool, no one gave up on making it to the end.
It wasn't sunny, but we were still sweating. That trail was so long it felt like we riding up to heaven.
When we made it to the end, everybody was just out of energy. Legs were sore, especially our bottoms.
It was hard going up the big hills, but the best part is that everybody made it safely.
